Are you a full-time, first-year UIC student who has not reached sophomore status by the end of your first year?
Accelerate toward sophomore status by taking advantage of Summer Session with this money-saving opportunity:
To qualify for this option, you must:
- Have started at UIC in Fall 2018 as full-time, degree-seeking, first-year student;
- Have accumulated less than 30 credit hours by the end of the Spring 2019;
- Be eligible to register for the Summer 2019 term;
- Meet necessary prerequisites of the courses for which you plan to register in the summer;
- Be eligible for and have received the federal Pell Grant during the 2018-2019 academic year;
If eligible, you can register for at least two summer courses that are each 3 credit hours or more and receive up to $1,600 of tuition, the equivalent of per credit hour fees for a 3 credit hour course, not to exceed your direct costs (with the exception of MATH 110 or MATH 121 which you can apply for through a different program.) Due to limited funds, awards will be granted to qualified students on a first come, first served basis.
The program is a collaboration among the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Affairs and Academic Programs, Vice Provost for Academic and Enrollment Services, and the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships.
